Categories and entry types are different
Categories describe the area of AI-era language an entry helps explain. Entry types describe what the entry is: a general term, organization, product, model family, or individual model. Keeping those dimensions separate lets EpochLex distinguish, for example, the generic term Copilot from named products such as Microsoft Copilot and GitHub Copilot.
Why entries may appear in more than one category
AI language does not always respect neat boundaries. A term such as Vibe Coding can be both cultural slang and a way of working. EpochLex allows multiple categories when doing so better reflects how an entry is actually used.
